Vintage Writing Desk, Olive Green Upcycled hand carved French bureau secretary desk
A one of a kind solid oak hand carved writing desk, upcycled using Olive green and dark wax to add some extra character to the carvings. The original writing leather part has been replaced with a quirky gold crocodile decorative paper which I've also used to line the back of the shelving area too, which adds a fun twist to this antique piece.
the desk has it's original handles which are a brass heart design and look to have been gilded at some point, though this has worn off over the years!
Thought to be French, this desk has been hand carved and even features a 'mistake' first practice carving on the inside of one of the small drawers as shown in the listing photos.
The style of this antique desk is similar to 'green man oak' or 'black forest oak', this one is so unusual it also has what I assume to be the date it was created carved into the top upstand piece, a real talking statement piece for the home!
Would make a beautiful workspace for the home or even a dressing table.
I have taken great care in upcycling this piece, however due to its vintage nature any bumps or knocks are there to show its previous life :).

Height; at tallest point at upstand - 119cm, the middle section shelving height -99cm, writing desk lowest height - 74cm
