Ottoman Footstool Cactus Print Fabric And Pompom Trim, Sirrom Vintage Woven Furniture Storage
£125.00

This unique and quirky cactus print footstool ottoman is useful both for storage and comfort. I have restored this footstool ottoman and given it a new lease of life. There are signs of historic woodworm to the feet however i have fully treated the wood with the correct treatment as a precaution anyway.
The brand of this woven piece of vintage history is Sirrom - very similar to a Lloyd Loom however the difference between a Sirrom and a Lloyd loom is the braiding detailing running along the top and bottom of the footstool! (Top Tip: a magnet will stick to Lloyd Loom braiding, whereas a Sirrom branded contains no magnetic metal within the braiding).
Sirrom was marketed by Morris, Wilkinson & Co. of Nottingham, established in 1889. Morris, Wilkinson & Co began selling Sirrom prams as well as their 'Sirrom Colurtex' furniture from 1914 onwards.
The gold paint to the inside is an original feature but I have given it a new coat of paint on the external woven sides a legs to give it a spruce up and make it shine again!
The bright pink pompom trim has been hand sewn to the edge of the newly upholstered cushion which I feel compliments the tropical cactus themed fabric perfectly. All materials used in the re-upholstering of the padded lid of the footstool/ottoman conform to fire safety regulations.
I have taken great care and attention in upcycling this beautiful ottoman footstool, however due to the vintage nature any bumps or knocks are there to show the story of its previous life :)
