This pair of rearing stallions are a great addition to any shelf, fireplace, or bookcase and really make a statement. The black glaze is an unusual feature for the normal staffordshire style ceramic ornaments and I think adds a touch of dark glamour to home décor. There are no makers marks on them that i can see, so i cannot guarantee the maker or what date they were made but from a few online searches seems to be quite typical of staffordshire ware. (Usually makers marks on picece like this would suggest a reproduction piece). As this is a vintage item, there will be small signs of wear due to being preloved, however I have checked them over thouroughly and cannot see any serious areas of damage, i.e. no cracks or chips that i am aware of.
